Used EVs in Singapore: compare the ownership window, not just the sticker price.

Make a used-EV comparison with the COE, price basis, condition and charging plan visible together. A lower number should be explained before it is celebrated.

Make the price comparable

Record the cash price, COE treatment, quote date and mandatory fees before comparing cars.

Read the ownership window

Put the registration date, COE expiry and renewal history beside the asking price.

Check the exact car

Keep the original battery report, service history, transfer path and charging plan with the vehicle record.

What to collect before a deposit

Price and quote date; COE and registration; financing and transfer; battery and warranty; condition history; and your charging plan.

The rules that frame the check

LTA requires a change of ownership to be transferred within seven days, and a Category A or B COE vehicle must be more than three months old from registration before transfer. Check financing status, road-tax arrears, and outstanding recalls before a deposit. Then make the test drive cover AC and DC charging, warning lights, tyres, and suspension, the parts that are expensive to fix later.
