EVAT Advances Thai-Taiwan EV Supply Chain Cooperation at AMPA Taiwan 2026

EVAT (Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand) advanced Thai-Taiwan EV supply chain cooperation at AMPA Taiwan 2026. The event took place April 15-17, 2026 at Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) in Taipei, Taiwan.

Keynote Speech on Synergy

Mr. Siamnat Panussorn, Vice President of EVAT, delivered a keynote on integrating Thai-Taiwan EV supply chains. Over 100 attendees joined the lecture and business matching sessions.

He emphasized the synergy of 'Hardware meets Software'. Thailand boasts global strengths in hardware parts production, vehicle assembly, skilled labor, and over 2,500 parts manufacturers. Taiwan excels in power electronics, AI, and software development. This combination is crucial for future AI and Software-Defined Vehicles.

Tier 1.5 Model Opportunity

Thailand and Taiwan can jointly develop a 'Tier 1.5' model, moving beyond single parts to co-develop subsystems like Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Drive Control Units (DCU). This aligns with Thailand's EV 3.5 policy.

ADAS Development and Testing

Cooperation focuses on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). EVAT proposed that the government require ADAS systems in vehicles to be verified and fine-tuned in Thai laboratories for excise tax reduction. Taiwan's involvement will accelerate technology transfer and R&D of advanced electronic parts in Thailand.

Safe Production Hub

Thailand positions itself as a safe, neutral production base with the region's best BOI investment incentives for Taiwanese investors to manufacture and export globally.

Beyond the lecture, Mr. Siamnat met with executives from TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association) and III (Institute for Information Industry) to discuss concrete cooperation and technology exchange, driving sustainable EV industry growth in the region.
