MG and IM Motors Showcase IM LS8 and MG4 URBAN at Beijing Auto Show 2026
By Paul
MG Thailand, through SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), presented two major highlights at the Beijing Auto Show 2026: the IM LS8 flagship SUV from IM Motors and the upgraded MG4 URBAN.
IM LS8: Flagship SUV with 1,000 km Range
The IM LS8 is a full-size SUV featuring a Digital Chassis with four-wheel steering up to ±24 degrees, giving a turning radius of just 4.85 meters despite its length over 5 meters. It uses a Super Range Extender system that combines V8-like power with EV silence, offering a range of over 1,000 km per tank. The 800V fast charging system supports daily convenience. The IM AD intelligent driving system, developed with NVIDIA and Momenta, uses high-resolution LiDAR with 300-meter detection range and supports all-road usage with future upgradeability.
IM Motors also displayed other models: IM LS6 (5-seat SUV, turning radius 5.09 m), IM LS8 (flagship, 4.85 m), IM LS9 (6-seat premium SUV, 4.95 m), and IM 5 (premium e-intelligent sedan, 4.99 m).
MG4 URBAN: Upgraded Value
The MG4 URBAN receives a major upgrade in design, technology, and features. New colors include Ice Crystal Blue and Almond Beige, with a floating black roof and new 17-inch alloy wheels. Some cars at the show were customized by London-based Chinese pop artist Jacky Tsai, blending Eastern culture with Western pop art. The MG4 has sold over 10,000 units per month, ranking top 3 in the B segment, with over 80,000 cumulative users, and has expanded to markets like the UK and Australia.
Upcoming Models: MG 4X and MG 07
MG plans to launch two new EVs in the second half of 2026: the MG 4X, an electric SUV with advanced driving technology, and the MG 07, a sport coupe that is the first MG to feature Momenta's urban autonomous driving (Urban NOA) for seamless door-to-door travel.
The Beijing Auto Show 2026 runs from April 26 to May 3 at the Beijing International Exhibition Center, Hall A4.
