MG Supports World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2026, Pushes Thailand as NEV Talent Hub

MG Thailand, represented by SAIC Motor-CP and MG Sales (Thailand), supported the World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2026 (Thailand Forum) in Bangkok on April 10, 2026. The event aimed to boost Thailand as a hub for high-skilled talent in the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.

First Chinauto Skills Center in Thailand

During the congress, the world's first Chinauto Skills Center (No. 2026001) was established in Thailand, managed by China's National Steering Committee for Vocational Education of Automobile (NSCTAVE). The center will focus on developing NEV talent in Thailand and the region through vocational education, skills training, technical services, and innovation transfer.

The center will operate at the Gabriel Mary Building, a joint NEV research and learning facility by MG and Assumption University at Assumption University's Suvarnabhumi Campus. It will serve as a collaboration hub for all sectors to enhance automotive personnel capabilities aligned with global industry standards.

Delegation Visit and Industry Exchange

A delegation from the China Association for Science and Technology, led by President Mr. Wan Gang, visited the SAIC Motor-CP factory in Chonburi. They were welcomed by Chairman Mr. Thanakorn Seriburi and Managing Director Mr. Da Shen Shen, along with executives. The group exchanged views on the Thai automotive industry to inform development plans for Thailand and ASEAN.

Mr. Da Shen Shen, Managing Director of SAIC Motor-CP, stated: 'We believe the growth of the EV industry depends not only on technology but on people. Participating in the World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2026 is a key step to building international cooperation, strengthening the ecosystem, and pushing Thailand to become the EV hub of the region.
